Engineered Wood Floors
In the flooring community, there is always an ongoing debate as to which type of wood is better for floors or other types of objects. Potential clients always want to know our opinion on which type of wood they should choose for their floors. The problem that most people find when they are out shopping for new floors is that it is very hard to find an honest answer. Especially if a company only works with hardwood or engineered woods! It is just a fact of life that nobody in their right mind is going to want to go against their own interests. Since we work with both types of woods we will try and give this debate a crack!
Is Engineered Wood Made From Cheap Woods?
One of the common beliefs that people have is that engineered wood is made from a combination of very cheap woods. This question though has a yes and no answer to it. There are companies out there that will compound cheaper woods to create engineered wood. Other companies, on the other hand, won’t do that. The concept is pretty much the same as buying ground beef or hamburger patties. It really comes down to who do you trust to make your wood! We work with some of the top manufacturers that can guarantee that you are getting a quality product!
Sacrificing Quality For Price
The easiest thing that we could do here is say that we would never do that and we only work with the fanciest woods on the market. The reality is that what we want to do is provide a wider variety of options for our clients to choose from. So, at times we may offer up less expensive types of engineered wood. In this case, we want to be totally honest with you. What we will never do is tell you that we use super expensive wood when that is not the case. If you need to stay on a budget may be a less expensive wood can do the trick!
Molding Wood Perfectly
The main advantage that engineered wood has over hardwood is the fact that engineered wood can be literally sculpted to the fit the shape and size that you need. That provides a whole nother set of possibilities for your floors that other types of materials just don’t bring to the table. If you are looking for oddly shaped floors engineered wood could be your best choice!
Perfect Color & Design
Staying almost on the same topic of engineered wood floors being much more customizable so to speak. These types of floors can be made to have the exact color and design that you need them to right out of the factory. Again this opens up a new wave of possibilities that for the most part, you don’t get with other types of floors. Especially since you also have that durability aspect going for you in these types of floors. If you are looking for new flooring options engineered wood may just be at the top of your list!
